mid to entry level Web Producer needed
Are you a creative, self-motivated, web programmer with solid skills in .NET? Theatre Communications Group, the national, non-profit, service organization for the professional not-for-profit American theatre is looking for an engaging Web Producer with a good combination of server-side and client-side development experience. Position will build, support and enhance current database-driven organizational websites, web applications and services in a team environment. We are looking for someone who is very smart (yet humble), enjoys solving challenging problems, knows how to get things done and has a strong attention to detail. Must hunger to perform code miracles, and then smile when asked for more. Candidates will need to be able to show examples of their abilities to write efficient, flexible, maintainable code.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Program compelling web site projects (ASP.NET, SQL, Coldfusion) in a creative environment
- Work in tandem with senior management to advise organization and it’s membership on best practices
- Tasks and responsibilities include supporting/expanding functionality of existing websites and developing new
- Convert existing websites into .NET database driven websites.
- Building custom .NET web forms that connect to a SQL Server database and inserting data into database.
- Design, build, and maintain SQL databases for various upcoming projects.
- Upgrading current custom content management system to add features such as inserting multimedia content and writing XML/RSS feeds.
- Reviewing current websites for coding errors and upgrading pages with current technologies.
- Collaborate with design team to conceptualize projects. Convert designs and content into working Web sites, with an eye towards functionality and User Experience.
- Maintain quality and unified presence on existing sites
- Write the majority of client- and server-side functionality including layout, logic, validation & code behind
- Binding presentation layer functionality to business objects and data
Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in .NET, ASP.NET and SQL (2000, 2005). Direct experience with database driven website development is preferred. Must be able to demonstrate ability to code data-bound web forms.
- Proficiency with XHTML/CSS, Javascript (presentation layer only)
- Strong knowledge of current technologies and trends, including a thorough understanding of online social networks, RSS feeds and a grasp of mobile web opportunities.
- The ability to create a positive, professional and productive business relationship with co-workers
- Candidate should be able to adjust to working solo, with a team, and on tight deadlines.
- Experience with Coldfusion, Actionscript, AJAX and XML a plus.
- Must have knowledge of SQL language using Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or later, and ASP.NET
- Experience building Social networking applications a plus.
- Any graphic layout or design experience using CSS, Adobe Photoshop or Flash is preferred but not required.
- Experience building intranet sites a plus.
- Certifications a plus.
